Learning opportunities during the COVID-19 pandemic

This is undoubtedly the most challenging school year we have ever seen. Schools and teachers are working extremely hard to maintain learning outcomes, but without a school routine, parents and students are having to create the stability that nurtures learning. One option gaining attention is the “learning pod.”

A learning pod – a small group of students and a tutor – meets regularly to cover material and maintain academic momentum. Learning pods provide crucial opportunities for the in-person exchanges that lead to scholarly, intellectual growth, and studies show that students engaged in group learning increase individual achievement.

Rubin Academics has added in-person learning pod options to our coursework tutoring services, and has applied special rates to these options. These are recommended for students in 8th-12th grade; clients considering this type of support should email RubinAcademics@gmail.com to discuss the specific needs for their pods, including subject matter, skills, and study habits – we are versatile and flexible, and eager to meet these needs, tailoring plans to keep learners on track in any situation

I only offer tutoring for courses in which I can confidently claim expertise. These include

  • English (including literature, language, and composition - all levels including AP)

  • U.S., European, and World History (all levels including AP).

I tutor additional classes - including math and foreign languages - on a case-by-case basis. For  questions about specific classes, please contact us before you register.

Meetings will take place in the conference rooms at Studio IX, which employs best health practices for its members and guests. Rubin Academics also offers remote learning pod sessions for well-wired clients who would rather meet from home. Write us to find out more - or schedule a free consultation.
